Easter People on the Move: Hope & Resurrection
Easter is not only a feast we celebrate once a year. It is a way of life. It is an invitation to become Easter people—people who carry hope, even in the midst of uncertainty; people who believe that after suffering, new life will always come.
Many of us are truly “people on the move.” We left our homes, families, and familiar surroundings, carrying with us both dreams and struggles. There are moments of loneliness, misunderstanding, homesickness, and even failure. Yet, in the light of Easter, we begin to see these not as endings—but as beginnings.
The Resurrection teaches us that God can bring life out of what seems lost. We can already see signs of this new life. We see it in families who continue to stay strong despite distance and sacrifice. We see it in individuals who found new opportunities after difficult starts. We see it in our gatherings—when we pray, sing, and celebrate together. These are our “resurrection moments.”
Perhaps the question for us this Easter is simple but deep: Where do I see new life in my own journey? Maybe new life is found in forgiveness, in a second chance, in renewed faith after a time of doubt, in the courage to begin again.
We continue to grow—not because everything is perfect, but because we allow God to transform our struggles into grace. So let us move forward as Easter people: with hope in our hearts, with faith that God is at work, and with the courage to begin again. May this Easter season renew our strength, deepen our faith, and unite us more as one family.
Christ is risen—He is truly risen!
With prayers and blessings,
- Fr. Simon Eric Boiser, SVD

2nd Meeting of Filipino Chaplains in Northern and Central Europe
From April 13 to 17, 2026, Berlin will host the Second Pastoral Meeting of Filipino Chaplains serving in Northern and Central Europe. This important gathering brings together priests and religious ministers who serve Filipino migrant communities across the region.
The meeting aims to strengthen coordination, collaboration, and mutual support among Filipino ministers. It will offer a valuable opportunity to share pastoral experiences and reflect on the realities of Filipino migrants in different countries, to discuss common pastoral concerns and emerging needs, and to deepen fraternal communion among priests and religious. At the same time, the participants will explore ways of strengthening their mission in closer partnership with local dioceses and Church institutions.
A highlight of the gathering will be the celebration of the Holy Mass on Tuesday, April 14 at 6:00 pm, presided over by Socrates Mesiona, Chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People. He will be joined by chaplains from Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Germany. The Filipino Chorale will provide music during the Mass. After the Mass, everyone is warmly invited to a fellowship, offering a wonderful opportunity to meet the bishop and the visiting priests.
Bishop Mesiona will also celebrate the Sunday Mass on April 19 at 3:30 pm with the Filipino Catholic Community in Berlin. All are warmly invited to take part in these celebrations.
As part of the program, the chaplains will also meet with Maria Teresa T. Almojuela and the Embassy staff. The meeting is expected to include discussions on the situation of Filipino migrants in the region and on strengthening cooperation between the Church and Philippine diplomatic missions.
We invite everyone to keep this meeting in your prayers, that it may bear fruit for the mission of the Church and the pastoral care of Filipino migrants throughout Europe.
